The short version
You do not need an account to browse the site. If you choose to contribute, your email address is sent to Supabase for passwordless authentication and may be associated with a Supabase authentication account. It is not displayed publicly, sold, or used for marketing. Contributions you choose to submit may be stored for moderation, and approved Teaching Note content may be displayed publicly.
Information you provide
If you choose to sign in, your email address is sent to Supabase to authenticate your account, distinguish contributors, reduce duplicate or automated submissions, and help maintain the integrity of faculty contributions. Supabase passwordless sign-in may create or update an authentication account associated with that email address.
Your email address is not displayed publicly.
Teaching Notes may include an optional display name and college. Approved Teaching Note content and any optional attribution you provide may be displayed publicly. Your email address is not published with those contributions.
Please do not submit student names, student IDs, grades, disability or accessibility information, assignment submissions, or other confidential student information.
Technical information
This website is hosted using GitHub Pages and uses Supabase for authentication and database services. Interactive course pages also load the Supabase JavaScript library from jsDelivr. Those providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, requested URLs, authentication events, and request or activity information as part of operating and securing their services.
After sign-in, the site stores the Supabase authentication session in your browser's session storage so it can continue while you navigate in the same browser session. This is designed to be less persistent than long-term local browser storage. Signing out removes the active session, and closing the browser session normally clears session storage.
If you choose Light or Dark instead of System, OER Fit stores that display preference in your browser's local storage on that device. The theme preference is not sent to Supabase, associated with your account, or used for tracking. Choosing System removes the saved theme preference.
How information is used
Information collected directly by OER Fit: English is used to operate the site, authenticate contributors, moderate submissions, reduce duplicate or automated activity, and maintain the integrity of faculty contributions and Teaching Notes.
Service providers
GitHub provides website hosting, Supabase provides authentication and database infrastructure, and jsDelivr delivers the Supabase JavaScript library used by interactive course pages. Information processed by those services is also subject to their respective privacy practices.
Passwordless sign-in email is delivered through Supabase and may also involve the email delivery provider configured for the Supabase project.
OER Fit: English does not currently use its own advertising trackers, behavioral advertising tools, or external analytics services.
