Privacy
The Core Promptbook Collects as Little as Possible.
Most Promptbook pages are static. Information you type into a task page is processed in your browser to build a prompt for you to copy.
Keep student, personnel, and other sensitive information out of Promptbook and AI workflows.

Core task pages
What Happens to the Information You Type?
Task pages use browser-side JavaScript to prepare prompt text. The Promptbook does not submit those task-page field values to a Promptbook server.
During your browser session
Shared course details such as a course title, college or campus, course context, course document text, priorities, and teaching-support needs may be stored in your browser's session storage. This lets those details follow you from one Promptbook task page to another and normally clears when that browser session ends.
If you choose Remember
Selecting Remember these course details on this device stores the shared course details in that browser's local storage so they can be restored in a later session. Use this only on a device you control.
Clear course information
The Clear course info control removes the Promptbook's saved shared course details from both session storage and local storage and clears those shared fields on the current page.
Page-specific information
Candidate lists, resource titles, unit topics, and similar task-specific entries are not part of the shared course profile unless a page explicitly identifies them as shared course information.
Once you paste elsewhere: if you copy a prepared prompt into an AI tool, the information you paste is then subject to that provider's policies and your institution's rules for using the tool.
Community Prompt Lab
The Community Prompt Lab requests an approved public prompt feed from Google Apps Script when the page opens. Google may receive ordinary technical information associated with that request under its own practices.
If you voluntarily submit a prompt, feedback, or a problem report, the information you provide is collected through Google Forms. New prompt submissions are reviewed before they appear in the public Community feed.
Publication path: submission form → private response sheet → maintainer review → approved public feed → Community page.
